As a Steel Detailer, you will play a critical role in the design and detailing of structural steel projects, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Steel Detailer with a minimum of 2 years of experience in structural steel design. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models of structural steel components, including beams, columns, connections, and other related elements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural steel design principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create detailed drawings and models of structural steel components using Autodesk Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, or similar software
- Interpret and apply engineering designs, specifications, and industry standards to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure design intent is met and project requirements are fulfilled
- Develop and maintain detailed shop drawings, including bills of materials, cut lists, and assembly instructions
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and models
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior detailers and other team members
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, software updates, and best practices in structural steel design and detailing
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in structural steel design and detailing
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Proficiency in Autodesk Advance Steel, Tekla Structures, or similar software
- Strong understanding of structural steel design principles, including AISC and AWS standards
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
- Familiarity with industry software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
