Primary Location : Aspirus Rhinelander or Howard Young
Summary of position :
This is for internal transfers from one hospital to another hospital. Critical care experience is required to transport various acuity leveled patients.
Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients. Provides ongoing assessment and required documentation of patient care. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Initiate and implement interventions based on protocols. Assists with treatments and tests ordered by provider as supervised by provider or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties after demonstration of clinical competency and in accordance with hospital and professional scope of practice. Identify, intervene, and stabilize the ill or injured patient under the direction, and in collaboration with a physician and / or Registered Nurse.
Unit skillset : Collaborative teamwork skills within an interdisciplinary group focused on patient care. Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment. Exhibits strong decision-making skills. Ability to perform while under stress. Ability to recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.
Shift Details Based on Opening12 hour shifts - 7-12hr on / 7-12hrs off rotation. Wed thru Tuesday rotation
Float Requirement : may have need to float to other locations in the north region based on staffing levels on scheduled workdays to maximize critical needs-
On Call Requirement : Any on Call requirements for the position? No on-call requirements
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
Education : High School graduate and successful completion of an EMS paramedic program.
Experience
Procedure Experience : - Ventilator experience for transport of intubated patients - Transport of CPAP / BiPAP – cardiac and vasopressor drip maintenance and titration - Rapid sequence intubation - ART line monitoring - High flow cannula (opti-flow).
Charting system Zoll emsCharts platform - training will be provided
Crew configurations may be mix of EMT / Medic, Medic / Medic, RN / EMT, RN / Medic - depending on daily staffing
Required certifications needed : Wisconsin EMT Paramedic CertificationActive WI DL in good standingAHA BLS AHA ACLS WI CCP Endorsement Preferred MI Paramedic Certification (if candidate has had NREMT-P, is eligible for reciprocity to obtain MI Paramedic licensure)

Please note on occasion travelers could be required to float to other facilities in the northern region : Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital, Howard Young Medical Center, Aspirus Tomahawk Hospital, and Aspirus Eagle River Hospital.
