Summary of Position: The Ice Rink Operations Manager is a business leader with strong customer service abilities, business acumen and overall leadership. This role is primarily responsible for overseeing Coaches, staff and ice usage. This includes but is not limited to managing rink schedules, skate sharpening and repair, skate rentals, league management and overseeing on-ice programing/instructions. The incumbent must be able to initiate the development and/or maximization of business objectives through increasing sales and programming. Additionally, this role will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the management of the Trampoline Park, Bounce Houses, and other aspects of the facility. This includes but is not limited to serving as Manager on Duty, completing Team Member schedule, and inventory management.

Responsibilities for Ice Rink Operations:
- Be PRESENT in the Ice Rink and during ice events, especially at the start and end of each new session
- Work with management and maintenance to keep a proper rink maintenance budget and to prioritize and facilitate attention to rink maintenance needs
- Accountable for managing all Coaches and ensure that s/he effectively completes the duties and responsibilities of their role
- Ensures all certifications for Arena, Guest and Junior coaches are up to date and in compliance with Flight® and U.S. Figure Skating standards
- Monitor and manage overall rink and facility safety and cleanliness through managing by walking around
- Effectively manage the scheduling of all ice hockey programs. This includes but is not limited to the following: Youth House League, Youth Travel League, High School Hockey, Adult House Leagues, UofSC Club Hockey, and outside hockey programs
- Have consistent communication with the Cyclones and CHL (Carolina Hockey League) to ensure the rink is actively aware of happenings within the organizations which may directly affect our business
- Effectively manage the scheduling of all figure skating programs. This includes but is not limited to the following: Learn to Skate and specialty programs, figure skating camps, freestyle sessions, test sessions, competitions, and shows
- Work closely with the park General Manager to ensure that proper Team Member coverage is scheduled to accommodate all scheduled ice activities and programs
- Manage the accounts receivables and payments for all ice rink programs. This includes but is not limited to the following: in-house hockey programs (youth and adult), in house figure skating programs (Freestyle, Learn to Skate, camps, shows), outside hockey team rentals, and commission payments
- Maintain records of activities and programs, completing reports and making
recommendations for improvement to programming
- Develop and maintain training for all Team Members for tasks related to ice programs, rules, pricing, etc.
- Develop, train, and ensure standards are met with Zamboni Drivers and Team Members for sharpening skates
- Schedules ongoing rental skate sharpening and repairs
- Manage inventory of all ice related items. This includes but is not limited to the following: Ice Skates, laces, hockey tape, mouth guards, pucks, hockey nets/goals
- Develop and ensure all ice rental contracts are in compliance with FFNF standards
- Regularly participates in management and company staff meetings
- Ensure customer inquiries regarding ice rates and availability are addressed in a timely manner
- Ensure that all Arena and Guest coaches have the correct and up to date certifications prior to training, coaching, or instructing on the ice
- Must be knowledgeable of US Figure Skating’s SafeSport Program and US Skating’s commitment to athlete safety rules and policies and ensure policies are communicated and practiced in all Rink Operations
Responsibilities for the Trampoline Park and Bounce Houses:
- Be PRESENT in Park Operations
- Serve as Manager on Duty for the park a minimum of twice per week. This may include nights, weekends, and early morning shifts.
- Assist with completing the weekly staff schedule ensuring that all aspects of the business are covered
- Monitor and manage overall Park Operations through managing by walking around
- Develop operating procedures that conform to FFNF standards, customized to the specific needs of the facility and consistent with the goals and objectives of the guest
- When needed, place orders for facility merchandise
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new Team Members and Managers
- Answer guest inquires and book birthday parties
- Attend monthly Management meetings and staff meetings
Expectations:
