Job Description
Works in conjunction with a flight Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, pre-hospital and inter-hospital critical care across the lifespan, including assessment, triage and treatment utilizing critical thinking skills, standards and guidelines established by the State of Wisconsin and Flight For Life (FFL). Will follow the vision, mission and values of Flight For Life while working with our aviation vendor pilots and mechanics as a team ensuring that safety remains the number one focus throughout the transport continuum.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties
- Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, pilot, patient and equipment
- Maintains currency as a licensed Wisconsin Paramedic with Critical Care endorsement and is in good standing with the FFL Medical Director
- Functions under the guidelines of the FFL Medical Director, Medical Control physician, FFL policies / procedures / guidelines, and State of Wisconsin scope of practice during delivery of patient care
- Maintains competency, knowledge, psychomotor skills, and training necessary to provide care to acutely ill and injured patients by participating in ongoing clinical experiences, annual Medical Director review in human patient simulation lab, and quarterly skill stations
- Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent judgment and appropriate prioritization in providing comprehensive care during emergency situations
- Complete patient assessments and document care provided accurately and promptly
- Attends a variety of company meetings with required committee participation
- Performs daily crew duties (peer reviews, narcotic audits, blood checks, hangar duties, bag checks, patient follow up, public relation events and daily briefing)
- Serves as a resource to specialty teams when transporting specialty patients
- Maintains confidentiality of all patients, program, and departmental-related information
- Demonstrates the ability to work with a variety of people regardless of race, religion, age, sex, social or cultural background, or disease entity
- Demonstrates the ability to document and submit reports utilizing applicable software applications
- Successfully completes an annual physical and audiology examination
- Successfully pass human patient simulations at the end of orientation

Salary : $30- $39 per hour based on experience
