Position Overview:
The Shipping Associate oversees product shipping and distribution processes, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. This role involves coordinating with various departments, such as sales and warehouse, to ensure the smooth flow of goods from the warehouse to customers. The Shipping Associate also communicates with customers, sales, and shipping carriers.
Shipment Coordination:
Plan and organize shipments of goods in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Coordinate the dispatch of outbound shipments and schedule pick-ups with carriers.
Prepare shipping documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and export/import documentation.
Ensure compliance with all regulations related to shipping, including customs and safety protocols.
Liaise with third-party carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, DHL, freight forwarders) to arrange transportation and resolve shipping-related issues.
Track shipments to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve any delays or discrepancies in shipping.
Provide the sales team with shipping updates and delivery estimates.
Address sales inquiries regarding shipping status, delays, and issues.
Investigate and resolve any shipping discrepancies, damage, or issues with orders or shipments.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1 year of experience in shipping, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
Familiarity with shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Skills:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of shipping regulations and procedures.
