Position Summary
Reports directly to the GSE Supervisor. Oversees and performs as necessary the maintenance of basic and routine maintenance tasks on ground equipment vehicles, alternate power units, and work stands as instructed. Monitors work performance levels of GSE Technicians. Create and maintain GSE equipment maintenance schedules and reports. Reads and complies with instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work as well as manages workloads and assignments under the direction of the GSE Supervisor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assigns daily tasks and provides direction to departmental personnel in carrying out daily tasks, as required.

Oversees the maintenance of ground support equipment (GSE) such as generators, tugs, tractors, carts and stands, forklifts, etc.

Monitors department personnel work performance on a regular basis.

Identifies sources and orders parts and supplies for GSE functions.

Helps maintain an adequate inventory of GSE related parts and supplies.

Investigates assists and resolves GSE maintenance problems.

Ensures that the necessary periodic GSE maintenance reports are up to date.

Ensures adherence to company safety, policies, and procedures with regard to all department functions.

Interfaces with other departments to ensure proper coordination of efforts and availability of required information.

Ensures departmental personnel are carrying out daily tasks, as required. Follows up and verifies their quality of work on a regular basis.

Partners with the Training Department on a routine basis to facilitate GSE training sessions including classroom and On-the-Job Training.

Operates a fork lift, scissor lift, boom lift, and any other equipment necessary to perform facility maintenance functions.

Performs daily inspections of ground support equipment. Reports all findings or discrepancies to the GSE Supervisor.

Prepares and maintains simple records such as log entries, time and material records, and other supporting ground support equipment details, as instructed.

Maintains direct communication with the GSE Supervisor at all times during scheduled work times via radio or phone to be proactive in case of a maintenance emergency.

Performs other duties as assigned by the GSE Supervisor.

Academic Qualifications
Technical or trade school education in a maintenance related trade, or equivalent background providing knowledge of appropriate business and technical principles and procedures is required. High School Education or GED Required.

Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish a plus

Special Licenses
A valid Drivers license is required

Previous Experience
Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in ground support equipment maintenance and repair.

Technical Skills
Position requires working ability in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of Flightstar’s ERP system.
