Flinchbaugh Engineering currently seeks to onboard a key leader to our business development team as part of our executive level succession planning. The successful candidate will bring to FEI 10 years’ experience and a proven track record of delivering exemplary sales and profitability growth. Over the next 3-5 years the candidate will learn the business and be afforded opportunities to increase his/her impact on the success of a growing employee owned (ESOP) company. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development market strategy to achieve pipeline growth and progression from lead to closure.
- Deliver annual commitments for both revenue and profitability growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers in client organizations, including key executives, procurement, engineering and project managers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, technical, and operations teams, to develop tailored solutions that meet client requirements and align with our capabilities.
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and proposal development in close collaboration with the operations and finance teams, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for both parties.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities for differentiation and strategic partnerships.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our capabilities and build a strong professional network.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, market insights, and business development reports to senior management, highlighting progress, opportunities, and challenges.
Background Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business; MBA preferred.
- 10 years of substantial business development experience including at least 5 years of experience leading teams or major projects. Experience must demonstrate a proven track record of sales production, demonstrated skills in business development strategy, team leadership, client discovery and development of compelling value propositions that meet client’s needs.
- 2 years or more of direct work experience or in a management role in a complex manufacturing company in which a major part of regular job duties involved the machining industry or closely related duties.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and abstract reasoning
- Financial acumen with an understanding of P&L and financial reports.
- High bias for action.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with capability of presenting persuasive and compelling presentations to clients, board of directors and shop floor personnel.
