What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Repack Associate position at Flinn Scientific, Inc.?

You will work closely with other team members to assemble, package and stack completed kits. The Repack Associate – Day-to-Day:

· You will be responsible for successfully completing all necessary safety training and demonstrate the ability to work within a culture of safety as our number one priority.

· Understand and interpret instructions on Production Orders which describe the chemicals, supplies, and apparatus needed to dispense or repackage chemicals.

· Collect the necessary equipment, lab apparatus, and containers to accommodate the work.

· Conduct necessary quality and quantity control checks to ensure complete and total accuracy of chemicals being packaged. Inspect materials, products, and containers at each step of packaging process for correctness. Report all discrepancies to supervisor.

· You will either manually or through machines, dispense or repackage the chemicals called for in the Production Order with the required accuracy through various means of measurement via laboratory apparatus for liquids, powders, and solids.

· Safely and efficiently clean all utilized lab apparatus and equipment return to appropriate storage locations.

· Stack finished products onto skids either individually or boxed. Move products throughout warehouse through the use of pallet jacks, cart, or hand truck.

· You will work on multiple Production Orders simultaneously which require the ability to organize and segregate work.

· Properly record information such as production process time and date packaged on work order via computer tracking system.

· Use computer and/or scanning gun to create labels for finished products. Mark items with the appropriate Flinn Item # when necessary.

· Assist supervisor in training new employees as well as performing various quality control tasks when called upon.

· During summer months and at other times of the year, you may be assigned to perform duties and responsibilities of a warehouse associate in our Distribution Group.

· Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

What You Need to be Successful

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

What You Should Know About this Work Environment & Physical Demands of the Job

· Ability to stand the majority of the work day

· Wear appropriate safety shoes and long pants when working in the Repack department

· Wear Personal Protective Equipment (such as; gloves, eyewear, and sleeves) and/or work under a fume hood when required

· Wear/use a respirator when required while working with various chemicals

· Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands & fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear

· Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 30-50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with assistance

· The warehouse temperature fluctuates with outside temperatures. Manufacturing/Warehouse environment and while facility is heated it is not air-conditioned.
