Job Summary:
The K4-12 Art Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering a Christ-centered art curriculum that nurtures creativity, artistic expression, and an appreciation for the visual arts. This role engages students of all grade levels in artistic techniques, art history, and personal expression while integrating biblical principles into instruction.
Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Curriculum Development
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate art curriculum for K4-12 students.
- Teach a variety of artistic techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Integrate biblical principles and Christian values into art instruction.
- Encourage creativity and critical thinking while fostering a love for artistic expression.
- Assess and evaluate student work, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
Classroom & Behavior Management
- Establish and maintain a structured, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.
- Teach students how to properly use and care for art materials and supplies.
- Encourage collaboration, responsibility, and positive interactions among students.
Art Displays & School Involvement
- Organize and display student artwork throughout the school.
- Coordinate and participate in school art showcases, competitions, and community events.
- Support school-wide initiatives by contributing artistic elements to school productions, special projects, or promotional materials.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with faculty, administration, and parents to support student development.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Certification: Teaching certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience: Prior teaching experience, especially in Christian education, is preferred.
- Faith Requirement: Must be a committed Christian with a passion for integrating faith and education.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
- Ability to teach a wide range of artistic skills and mediums.
- Passion for inspiring creativity and artistic confidence in students.
Work Environment:
