Job Summary
Responsible for planning coordinating and directing estimating functions for a particular geographic location or segment of the company. The position of Estimator II reports to the Preconstruction Manager/Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate, supervise and review work of assigned personnel to insure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide technical support and/or prepare estimates as required. Assist in making the "sale". Track awarded contracts as required. May include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit/cost savings; procuring materials, etc.
- Assist Project Managers during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids and estimate as required.
- Assists in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and relative cost estimates as required.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates prepared by other employees temporarily assigned to estimating.
- Support Bid Captain and/or Estimator on complex packages or as workload demands.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy and presentation meetings as required.
- Assist clients and designers in systems selections, budgeting, cost containment, value engineering.
- Perform additional duties per supervisor's direction.
Management Responsibilities
Knowledge/Skills/Ability
Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, all engineering disciplines, cost control systems and accounts required. Ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus ability to coordinate group work effort.
Education
4 Year engineering degree or an equivalent combination of educartion, technical training and related experience.
Experience
4-8 years extensive construction industry and estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, technical training and related experience.
