Job Summary

This role can be based anywhere in the U.S. on a construction job site. We will provide company-paid trips home plus per-diem to cover living expenses. As a Solar Logistics Manager, the individual would need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing competing demands.

Oversee, manage, and organize all logistics at the construction site including shipping and delivery of materials, laydown yard (warehousing), inventory, material issuing to crews and subcontractors, material transfer process, and asset management.
Responsible for conducting regular audits and reporting to ensure materials needed for site teams are accounted for to prevent construction delays.
Maintain communication with carriers and suppliers involved in the shipping and delivery process.
Partner with subcontractors performing post, racking an electrical task to supply the material needed to perform work.
Site monitoring and logistics reporting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Managers the receipt and orders for consumables, tools and equipment from projects, and regularly solicits rental pricing from outside equipment rentals suppliers.

Oversees the equipment rented from outside suppliers and approves the quoted equipment rental rates from outside suppliers. Assists Estimating with equipment rental rates and pricing.

Coordinates and tracks personnel needs and staffing requirements at remote projects.

Assists in the purchase of new equipment and assigns and sets-up new equipment numbers in the system, and maintains master equipment files (purchase invoice copies, specifications, manuals or drawings).

Managers the coordination of equipment moves.

Assists in the sale of equipment and maintains a master list of equipment sold, and prepares reports as requested.

Monitors and reviews the financial status of the EWM equipment segment and assists in quarterly and annual projections.

Participates in the equipment evaluation process to determine buy / sell needs.

Provides total commitment to continuous process improvement.

Models and reinforces safety as a top priority of the organization.

Meets schedules and deadlines, adheres to policies and procedures and maintains a good attendance / tardiness record.

Ensures client satisfaction, both internally and externally, through efficient handling of issues. Exercises good interpersonal skills by gladly assisting others to accomplish work of the organization, even if it is outside the scope of regular duties.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Education

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

5 plus years construction experience.

Proficient Microsoft Office experience (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Previous logistics experience with an understanding of planning, material management, and tracking systems for inventory purposes in Renewables Market.

Occasionally, especially when managing multiple projects and during problematic opening and / or closing phases of projects, mental stress can be taxing.

May be required to work long hours for extended periods of time.

While performing the duties of this position in the fabrication shop, warehouse, maintenance shop or at a project site, the employee could be regularly exposed to any number of the following, including, but not limited to moving mechanical parts moving
