Primary Responsibilities: The AmeriCorps Senior Program Manager is responsible for the full oversight of the AmeriCorps Healthy Futures Program which requires active fieldwork and interaction with the community. In addition, the Senior Program Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining a sound program management system to achieve program objectives. This role mainly oversees the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, placement and performance of approximately 33 AmeriCorps members and ensures compliance with grant requirements, AmeriCorps regulations, and agency policies and procedures.
Employment Status: Full-time, Exempt position
Location: This position requires regular, in-person engagement with the community. This role will be responsible for conducting site visits to various locations and recruiting AmeriCorps Service Members. This role involves travel to different sites within the tri-county area: Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade.
Travel Allowance: $150/month
Benefits: After 90 days of probation, FLIPANY offers medical, dental, and vision insurance and a Simple IRA retirement account. 11 Paid Holidays and Paid Time Off (10 days the first year and increases each year).
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
· At least 5 years of managerial experience with a background in leading teams
· Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
· Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to establish and maintain management systems to achieve goals
· Experience with AmeriCorps programs and/or managing federal grants is preferred
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
· Ability to travel throughout South Florida for recruitment events and site visits
· Ability to attend conferences involving overnight travel (approximately twice per year)
· A comparable amount of training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly understands the approved grant contract, AmeriCorps provisions and regulations and funder policies and procedures.
- Utilize effective strategies for recruiting and selecting AmeriCorps Service Members who possess the skills required to deliver the required interventions
- Develop and maintain a sound program management system in accordance with requirement, regulations and policies
- Ensure that AmeriCorps Service Members have the skills and training necessary to successfully carry out their service activities
- Engage in required collaboration with other FLIPANY departments to establish the schedules of AmeriCorps Service Members
- Work proactively to ensure members have proper support at their service sites.
- Follow disciplinary procedures and implement a regular evaluation process to provide feedback to AmeriCorps Service Members.
- Implement and monitor adherence to policies and procedures to improve the day-to-day operations.
- Identifies program gaps and areas of possible non-compliance and proactively develops procedures to address the issues
- Collaborate with other FLIPANY departments to collect necessary program data to monitor and report on specific performance measures
- Ensure accurate and timely program and financial reporting to FLIPANY leadership and funders.
- Effectively integrate team-building strategies into program training activities to foster team cohesiveness
- Utilize effective strategies for retaining members for their entire term of service.
- Implement record-keeping plan to maintain 100% compliance
- Handles the exiting of service members as needed and in accordance with policy and regulations
- Projects a positive image of the organization to staff, service members, funders, partners, and community.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
