Position Description:
The Administrative Camp Counselor is responsible for ensuring that all camp records, statistics, and data are professionally organized and documented. This management role involves data collection and management, creation and submission of reports, record keeping, use of data management software/technology, project management, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication. The Administrative Camp Counsellor will support camp staff in executing administrative requirements, data entry, and submitting camp reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Public Health/Social Work Administration, Project Management, Recreation, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in camp management, youth programming, or related leadership roles.
- Commitment to health and wellness.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and support staff.
- Experience in program management, organizational efficiency, behavior management, and child development strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with children, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and risk management procedures for youth programs.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings as needed.
- Experience with SAMIS data management system (Preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole (preferred but not required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and document all camp records, statistics, and data professionally.
- Collect and manage data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Create and submit detailed reports on camp activities and outcomes.
- Maintain records using the required data management software and technology.
- Support camp staff in executing administrative requirements and data entry.
- Submit camp reports in a timely manner.
- Assist in program management tasks, ensuring efficient camp operations.
- Provide guidance and support to camp staff in administrative tasks.
- Ensure attention to detail in all documentation and reporting.
Camper Safety & Well-Being
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all campers.
- Implement and adhere to safety regulations and risk management procedures.
- Provide CPR and First Aid as needed.
- Promote health and wellness among campers and staff.
- Address any behavioral issues promptly and effectively.
Parent & Community Engagement
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and camp activities.
- Foster positive relationships with the community and stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in community events and outreach programs.
- Provide regular updates and reports to parents and community members.
Administrative Duties
- Manage camp correspondence and communications.
- Set up alerts and reminders for important tasks and deadlines.
- Ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Support the camp director in administrative functions.
- Maintain a high level of organization and multitasking abilities.
Skills Required: Public speaking, organization of paperwork, leading small groups, CPR certification
