Flō Networks is a leading provider of telecommunications services between the United States and Mexico. We provide voice and data services to Fortune 1000 companies, telecommunications and cable companies through a fiber optic network that extends 35,000 km between both countries.
We are looking for an Infrastructure Manager to keep the network operational, documented and facilitate our growth in El Paso, Texas.
The role:
The Infrastructure Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of our telecommunications infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of network technologies, infrastructure components, and project management principles. The Infrastructure Manager will ensure that the network infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and supports the company's business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Define and budget the fiber optic cable network routes according to the best cost/benefit, in compliance with current regulations and in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs for the fiber optic network, energy and air conditioning backup equipment, as well as coordinate activities to repair faults in the shortest possible time.
- Plan daily activities and dispatch personnel through the system.
- Add, modify and delete tasks so that the system reflects reality in the field.
- Timely identify and mitigate incidents and unforeseen events that may divert and compromise delivery dates.
- Promote and enforce internal regulations and report all incidents.
- Ensure that the personnel under your charge use personal protective equipment and clothing and carry out activities as established by the company.
- Obtain the requirements and procedures to coordinate visits to clients from both internal staff and contractors.
- Document Infrastructure indicators such as Service Deliveries, MTTR maintenance, among others.
- Provide immediate attention to failures reported by NOC.
- Interview and select the candidates who will be part of the team, using the systems and with the support of People Operations.
- Manage and document payroll requests such as vacation, on call, permits, etc.
- Define and apply performance improvement plans to personnel who require it.
- Deliver expense reports in a timely manner.
- Schedule vehicle maintenance and payment of vehicle endorsements.
- Schedule maintenance on testing/measurement equipment, splicers, tools.
- Promote cross-training and equity in task assignment.
- Ensure timely and accurate response to Cable Locate ticket request and other third-party notification regarding impending work that may jeopardize the network integrity.Ensure that the entire team complies with company procedures, instructions, policies and regulations, as well as ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
- Obtain the permits, licenses and rights of way necessary for the installation and operation of the fiber optic network.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar.
- 3 years experience in a management position in a related area.
- Knowledge of the procedures for right-of-way permits for the installation of infrastructure within the jurisdiction of municipal, state and federal agencies.
- Knowledge of Electric and Joint-Use company attachment guidelines for the use of poles for fiber optic installation.
- Experience in the design, construction and maintenance of aerial and underground fiber optic plant infrastructure.
- Experience in trouble-shooting/analysis and resolution of problems in fiber optic networks.
- Experience in selecting and supervising external contractors.
- Experience in planning and executing simultaneous projects, using project management systems.
- Knowledge of wireless link installation.
- Proactive, self-directed, excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Bilingual - English and Spanish.
