Float 4 Life Instructor
Are you looking for a place to make a difference? Do you enjoy working with infants and toddlers? Are you looking for flexible scheduling? Do you love the water and have prior experience working with children in an aquatic facility? We are looking for someone to instruct children, including infants and toddlers on how to back float and self-rescue in accordance with the Float 4 Life method.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides instruction based on the Float 4 Life method and evaluates program participants through milestone progression.
- Maintains constant surveillance of student. Knows, understands, and consistently applies and enforces safety and pool rules, policies and guidelines.
- Communicates and maintains personal contact with parents to discuss achievements and concerns related to their child’s progress.
- Documents and notifies Director of incidents/accidents, member questions/concerns, attendance records and enrollment changes.
- Knows all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Is responsible for assuring the outlined procedures for preparing and picking up the pool area before and after classes are fully completed.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other activities and duties as needed that address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and students, including but not limited to housekeeping, sanitation, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to read, write, talk, see and hear.
- Ability to perform rescue skills.
- Must be able to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the Float 4 Life and its purpose, mission and values. Demonstrates this understanding through behavior and actions that support the purpose, mission and values.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire.
- Successfully complete all Float 4 Life courses/training within 60 days hire.
- Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lbs. or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20lbs
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Current or previous swim instructor, competitive swimming experience, or related experience such as lifeguard training or Water Safety Instructor certifications.

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
