About the role:
As an Account Manager, you will own the growth and performance of an existing portfolio of accounts. You drive account strategy, capitalize on growth opportunities, and cultivate the adoption of Flock Freight’s shared truckload service. You handle all operational needs while ensuring your portfolio “ramps” effectively by digging into their supply chain with an appropriate yet aggressive attitude to maximize & understand the wallet share of the opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the communication from our Account Executives and begin building rapport with this new client. You take ownership of the relationship so the AE can continue selling and pursuing new opportunities.
- Train new clients on the Flock Platform and help drive our “self-serve” initiatives from day 1. If they will not self-serve, you will quote their opportunities to ensure we are priced effectively, negotiating as needed, and winning the right freight mix. Pricing is something you have complete oversight of and ensure we maintain healthy win rates and margins. You have a well rounded knowledge of the spot market and pricing strategies.
- Ensure we are properly set up and use the client’s TMS System effectively and to their standards. Decide if EDI/API capabilities are possible and identify a timeframe for implementation.
- Identify scheduling needs for these new clients. Are the facilities FCFS? By Appt? Will they treat us like an LTL carrier and provide us flexibility and a designated dock door? You coach your designated Account Coordinator to execute on these scheduling needs so you can stay focused on higher-level execution items.
- Determine the tracking needs of these new clients. What are their objectives around tracking and communication? Will they require tech tracking? Ensure we are executing on their expectations and train your Account Coordinator to help deliver on these expectations.
- Handle all customer escalations and drive issue resolution as quickly and decisively as possible. Proactively communicate all issues to your customers and mitigate risks.
- Communicate with carrier management so they are aware of these new clients and their service expectations.
