We are seeking a Commercial Lines Department Manager to join our growing team at Flood and Peterson. About the Role

As a Commercial Lines Department Manager, you'll oversee operational activities, manage a team, and ensure exceptional service delivery to clients. You'll collaborate with internal teams—Account Managers, Risk Control, Claims, and Marketing—to meet client goals and drive retention strategies for top clients. The position offers the opportunity to coach and mentor team members while improving processes and performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Department Tasks : Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure client deliverables are met and resources are used efficiently.
  • Cultivate Team Excellence : Provide guidance, training, and feedback to help team members grow and reach their goals.
  • Client and Internal Escalations : Address and solve client, carrier, or employee concerns to maintain strong relationships and smooth operations.
  • Client Retention : Drive strategies to retain key clients, ensuring long-term partnerships and business growth.

What You Bring

  • Education and Work Experience : Minimum 5-7 years of team and operation management, client service, and / or quality experience in roles of increasing complexity. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with a proven track record of successful improvement projects.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :
  • Current Colorado Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • CIC or equivalent designation
  • Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Leadership Skills : Ability to lead and mentor a team, set goals, and drive performance. Client Management : Experience managing client relationships, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction. Process Improvement : Ability to identify inefficiencies and improve operational processes to enhance team performance. Team Collaboration : Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work across departments to meet goals. Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Salary Range : Starting pay for this exempt position is $110,000 - $140,000 annually. Pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, commensurate with experience. In addition to regular pay, this position is eligible to participate in our annual performance incentive program. Bonuses may be available for client and employee referrals and for successful completion of approved industry designations.
