Position Overview
The Floor Covering Education Foundation (FCEF) is seeking a passionate and results-driven Education Outreach Specialist to join our mission-driven team. This role is essential in connecting students and communities to rewarding career paths in flooring installation through our college and high school programs nationwide. Through proactive outreach, relationship building, and event coordination, you’ll help recruit future flooring professionals and strengthen industry awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with high schools, technical colleges, and workforce development organizations to promote FCEF training opportunities
- Help develop recruiting plans with colleges and high schools to recruit students into floor covering installation programs across various regions
- Plan and participate in school visits, job fairs, career expos, and community events
- Develop engaging digital and social media content for outreach campaigns
- Represent FCEF at industry, educational, and community events
- Support collaboration with grant-funded partners and workforce boards
- Track outreach activities, maintain records, and support reporting needs

Preferred (But Trainable) Experience
- Background in education, workforce development, or community outreach
- Familiarity with the flooring industry or installation careers
- Experience managing social media or digital content for outreach
- Working knowledge of grant-funded programs and reporting practices
Suggested Qualifications
- Proven experience in education, workforce development, career counseling, or community outreach
- Strong public speaking and communication skills — confident presenting to students, educators, and industry leaders
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and workforce organizations
- Demonstrated event planning or coordination experience, such as organizing school visits, expos, or recruitment events
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media platforms for outreach and promotion
- Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once
- Willingness to travel regionally for outreach events and site visits (some overnight travel may be required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic online reporting tools
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
