SUMMARY : The CFO will manage the accounting departments and oversee all accounting functions of our organization in a very hands-on capacity. Reports to the CEO and COO of a privately held, fast growing and innovative organization with approximately 1000 employees and a nine-figure annual revenue. Our organization, based out of The Colony, Texas, is comprised of 10 companies and multiple locations, primarily focused on new home construction.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE :

Responsible, either directly or by managing staff, for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company's financial strategy and hiring needs.
Coordinate the development of the annual operating, capital, and reporting against the same.
Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization.
Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Oversee all Companies' Accounting department, reporting and audit functions.

Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, State Attorney General, and other relevant regulations.

Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.

Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and historical expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections.

Reviews planning process and suggests improvements to current methods.

Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, enhancement, or elimination.

Works with Executive and Senior Management to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.

Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.

Monitor performance with tracking, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting for the management team and the rest of the company.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors' Degree or higher in accounting, business accounting, or finance in required.

10 years' progressive accounting experience

At least 5 years of Controller level experience

CPA preferred

Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Construction, manufacturing, or distribution industry experience a plus

Ability to travel is necessary
