What are we looking for?
A fun and caring Urgent care/Emergency technician to grow our team! Candidates must have excellent skills in the following areas: client service, communication, multi-tasking, detail orientation, and the ability to manage time effectively. We are looking for candidates with a great attitude, an outgoing personality, excellent technical skills, and a passion for patient care. Most importantly, applicants must be team players who enjoy working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Certified Veterinary Technicians are highly desired, but we are also open to experienced unlicensed technicians!
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide support and care along with our Veterinarian team with our Urgent Care/Emergency Cases
- Assist veterinarian with examinations, treatments, surgeries, handling, and restraint
- Care for our hospitalized cases by providing treatments and TLC
- Cleaning of medical supplies, exam room, etc.
- Running diagnostics in-lab/out-lab
- Phlebotomy
- Complete/fill out electronic medical records and invoices
- Computer data entry of patient records
- Assist with diagnostics, ultrasound, and K-laser
- Occasional office/reception/scribe duties
- Rotate through appointments or the surgery department
- Dental prophy and dental radiographs
- Patient discharges
- Medication refills
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Works well under pressure
- Knowledgeable in prescription medications
- Knowledgeable in common urgent care and emergincy presentations
- Knowledgeable in proper triage
Preferred (but not required):
- Certified Veterinary Technician
- Cornerstone System
- IDEXX Lab Equipment
