Supply Chain Logistics Leader
Location: Hugoton, KS (on site)
Job Overview:This is a critical role in the establishment of Flora’s new cream factory in Hugoton, Kansas. You will represent the Supply Chain function in the project phase and beyond, playing a key part in ensuring the site’s operational readiness. In the early stages, you will lead efforts to align between the project team and Supply Chain leaders. This role has the potential to evolve into the Site FG Planner or Raw & Pack Materials Warehouse Lead once the site is operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
- Act as the Supply Chain lead in the Hugoton project, ensuring all supply chain-related tasks (planning, raw material logistics, warehouse setup) are completed on time.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, and Finance to meet project milestones.
- Drive continuous improvement in all areas related to warehouse setup, planning systems, and logistics.
- Organize and track the delivery of new equipment to the site – including from overseas
- Work with central logistics team on establishment of new lanes, routes, carrier onboarding, and rail capabilities.
- Planning:
- Lead the development and execution of production plans and schedules to meet demand while optimizing the use of raw materials and packaging supplies.
- Coordinate raw material and packaging supply needs with vendors, ensuring timely delivery in alignment with production schedules.
- Create forecasts and align supply chain activities with business needs.
- Warehouse & Logistics Management:
- Oversee the setup of warehouse operations at the Hugoton site, ensuring efficient layout, processes, and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure proper staffing and manage the daily warehouse operations once the site is live, including inventory management, receiving, and distribution.
- Drive compliance with safety, quality, cost, and delivery metrics during the warehouse setup phase and after.
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff and daily activities, ensuring positive team dynamics and active communication.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory movements using WMS, ensuring stock accuracy and troubleshooting discrepancies.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse and supply chain efficiency and productivity, implementing lean principles and best practices.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, cost, and people development across all supply chain functions.
- Perform process audits, safety inspections, and lead initiatives to drive a continuous improvement culture.
- Leadership & Development:
- Lead shift meeting, fostering a culture of inclusion and open communication with all staff.
- Train, develop, and mentor warehouse staffs, building a capable workforce.
- Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to drive supply chain excellence.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 5 years in supply chain, warehouse management, or planning roles, ideally in food manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP APO/IBP, MS Office, and Yard Management Systems is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in supervising staff and managing warehouse or logistics operations.
- Previous experience in project management or leading cross-functional teams is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across different levels of the organization.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of supply chain planning, warehouse operations, and logistics principles.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present ideas and results effectively.
