We are seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team!
Flora Medical Clinic is a primary care medical practice for fulfilling the health care needs of adults eighteen years and older. In addition to traditional primary care, we uniquely offer lifestyle medicine, which focuses on nutrition, exercise, sleep, community support, and stress management for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases.
We're seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team! Our Medical Assistants perform a variety of clinical and office duties to keep our clinic running with efficiency and a positive spirit. We encourage teamwork and provide many opportunities to learn and grow.
This small practice thrives when all team members are willing to be involved in a variety of roles from patient care, to responding to phone messages, and whatever else is needed to provide the best experience to our patients and to support our providers.
Duties:
- Support providers in the care of patients
- Measure and record vitals and changes in medications and medical history.
- Perform procedures including ekgs, spirometry, flu shots, urine tests, ear washes (training provided)
- Update and maintain patient records
- Clean, stock and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Help in the front office by answering phone calls, scheduling, and greeting patients as they enter the facility
- Submit pre-authorizations and referrals to insurance as needed
- Assist with in-office and telemedicine needs of patients and providers
Skills and Requirements:
- Associate's degree or higher, preferred, or relevant experience
- Background in medical-related field, preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A high level of professionalism, the desire to help, and a strong work ethic.
- Flexible with a willingness to do what is needed
- Ability to stay calm during stressful times
- Strong customer service skills
- Compassionate and caring
- Ability to build rapport with patients
Experience that is helpful, not required:
- Medical Assistant experience
- Experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital
- Experience using an Electronic Medical Records System (EMR)
- Interest in a lifestyle approach to health
Work Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
