Summary
Perform general laborer duties on grading and paving crews in a safe, efficient, and proper manner to achieve a quality finished product. Involves physical labor such as shoveling, raking, lifting, and moving equipment. May be asked to manage/control traffic. Prior grading or paving experience a plus but not required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid license and reliable means of transportation, CDL helpful.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Clean driving record for past 5 years.
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Ability to complete tasks like handling power tools, raking and shoveling as needed.
- Ability to take direction and work together in a team setting.
- Ability and willingness to learn and understand your role on the team.
- Must be willing to work weekends, overtime, and unexpected longer hours when necessary.
- Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness.
- Building and Construction-- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of highways and roads helpful.
- Ability to follow all company, DOT and MIOSHA safety rules.
Work Environment/Physical Abilities:
The physical abilities of this position require that an employee is able to frequently sit, stand, climb, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time. This may also require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing, and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to jobsites throughout the Detroit metro area.
