Florence Cement Company is currently seeking an Asphalt Paving Foreman.

Job Duties:
- Management HMA Milling/ Hand Patching/ Joint Preparation Crew
- Maintain quality of product
- Responsible for day-to-day coordination and safety of all Asphalt crew members
- Assist with training new asphalt crew members
- Ability to perform asphalt preparation, stone set up and milling operations in accordance with MDOT, County and City Specifications
- Assist project managers and superintendent with maintaining the project schedule
- Assist project managers with oversight of project, including ordering truck, ordering materials, and overseeing subcontractors
- Review HCSS Timecard daily to ensure timely reporting, budget vs production, and hours worked.
- Maintains and enforces company polices
Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience
- Familiarity with Asphalt Paving Standards and specifications for local cities, local counties, and MDOT is preferred
- Must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively
- Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills
- Roadbuilding and asphalt paving experience with larger commercial and industrial facilities is preferred

Pay and Benefits:
This position is a union position. Benefits are in line with the Michigan Operating Engineers Union Agreement.
Work Environment/Physical Abilities:
The physical abilities of this position require that an employee is able to frequently sit, stand, climb, stoop, squat, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time. This may also require carrying, pushing/pulling, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing, and talking. Lifting requirements may include up to 50 pounds. Traveling is an essential requirement of this position to jobsites throughout the Detroit metro area. Option of promotion to Superintendent as a result of continued growth.
