What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Merchandise Internship position at Florence Flamingos?
Are you looking for a summer internship? Wanting one where you’ll actually be doing the work versus just “assisting” with everything? Look no further!
The Florence Flamingos summer internship program is designed to give college students real-world experience. Each intern becomes the chief of staff for the department head in that particular area. The goal for all of our interns is when the summer is over, you are ready to make a difference in your world.
Our summer internship runs with our season, which begins May 29th and ends August 4th. We ask our interns to arrive no later than May 15th. We have a total of 30 home games, and most interns will see a mix of working both games and in the office. You must be able to commit to all 30 home games.
The Flamingos are a summer-collegiate baseball team located in Florence, South Carolina. The team plays in the Coastal Plain League and competes against teams located in Georgia, North and South Carolina, and Virginia.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Manage team store during every home game
- Manage merchandise inventory
- Keep flock shop clean and organized
- Monitor store floor, assist with guests needs and requests
- Regularly evaluate, create, and maintain professional visual displays
- Assist with new merchandise ideas and ordering process
- Assist marketing team with other daily tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills
- Requires ability to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, team-first attitude and willingness to collaborate in a creative environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail
- Some baseball experience is preferred, but not required.
You will be responsible for housing and transportation. College credit and a stipend is available for all internships.
