Job Description :

• Must be flexible with work hours to meet department needs.
• Assist with providing safe, age-appropriate care by performing all exams according to department protocols.
• Responsible for obtaining quality diagnostic studies through a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
• Set up equipment for imaging services and position patients for procedures.
• Verify proper clinician orders and patient identity using two unique identifiers before performing procedures.
• Obtain a complete clinical history and assess for contraindicating conditions.
• Ensure all studies have proper patient identification and correct use of right and left markers.
• Review ultrasound images for clinical acceptability and release patients accordingly.
• Respond to emergency situations and maintain life support equipment as needed.
• Observe patient conditions and make evaluations for physician intervention to prevent deterioration.
• Maintain patient privacy, comfort, and dignity throughout procedures.
• Effectively organize schedule, time, and priorities to complete activities within designated time frames.
• Use critical thinking skills to assist in procedures and exams per physician instructions.
• Communicate clearly with patients and family members using the AIDET framework : Acknowledge, Introduce, Discuss, Explain, and Thank.
• Address patient questions or concerns before initiating procedures, involving physicians if necessary.
• Participate in orienting and training new departmental employees.
• Produce consistent, high-quality images and ensure equipment functionality through proper calibration checks and maintenance.
• Send studies to PACS immediately after completion and manage the post-reporting processes as necessary.
• Perform quality control tasks, including maintaining logs for probe disinfection and following infection control policies.
• Restock supplies and maintain department cleanliness.
• Transport and assist patients on and off procedures tables.
• Perform routine clerical and support duties to ensure continuity and quality of services.
• Maintain communication with supervisors to report responsibilities and issues.
• Operate all workstations associated with the ultrasound department and maintain productivity rates.
• Perform tasks following regulatory standards, take call when necessary, and complete other duties as assigned.
• Adjust technique to minimize patient radiation exposure while ensuring image quality is maintained.

Note : Candidates should exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor. Medical scrubs are required for this position. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, and Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 12 : 00 PM. Preferred candidates have OBGYN experience, though it is not mandatory.
