Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food items according to established recipes and menu plans.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
• Handle food items safely and efficiently, ensuring proper storage and labeling.
• Support catering events by preparing and organizing food items as needed.
• Utilize kitchen tools and equipment, including knives, safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
• Participate in menu planning discussions by providing input based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others.
• Basic culinary skills, including knife handling and food preparation techniques.
• A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in the culinary field.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed.

We have current openings for a full time Cook and Dietary Aide. Cooks must have at least 1 year experience in the food service industry, preferably in the health care field. No experience necessary for Dietary Aide position but food industry or long term care experience helpful. Schedules flexible. Weekends required.
