What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN/LPN Charge Nurse**FT/PT position at Florentine Gardens?

Full time/Part time RNs/LPNs 7a-7p, 7p-7a.
The primary purpose of this job position is to promote the physical and mental health of residents by applying the nursing processes of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will be expected to effectively interact with the resident, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. The nurse coordinates and monitors medical services in accord with the requirements of regulatory agencies and in accordance with the Director of Nursing and Medical Personnel.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, compassionate and have the ability to effectively multi-task.
Minimum responsibilities/expectations:
~ Maintain a high standard of care and have good knowledge of nursing practices, including identifying and taking appropriate action upon a change in resident mental or physical status
~ Conduct resident rounds, at a minimum, every 2 hours, provide direct nursing care and clinical supervision of LPNs and/or STNAs, initiating corrective action as necessary
~ Administer and document all medications and treatments per the physician order and accurately record resident condition and care provided
~ Participates in the orientation of new nursing staff
~ Tactfully interact with residents, staff, visitors and all government agencies
~ Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to meet the needs of the residents
~ Possess leadership and supervisory skills
~ Be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
~ Knowledgeable regarding the nursing process and its application, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
Previous experience in patient care setting highly desirable.
