Food Truck Overnight Kitchen Supervisor
Flores Food Truck has a permanent food service location inside vehicle motor company in Louisville, KY to service employees.
Our ideal candidate is a positive, energetic individual with leadership skills.
The Overnight Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for managing assigned areas and staff to uphold quality of service and standards of the company during the overnight shift. The Overnight Kitchen Supervisor will represent themselves and the company in a proper & professional manner. This is a working position. Please ONLY APPLY for this position of you have cooking experience and training. A culinary degree is a plus but not required. You MUST have reliable transportation to and from the job site.
Job functions include, in cooperation with day shift supervisors:
- Purchase all food, beverage, paper goods & chemicals while staying within budget
- Handle weekly cash deposits to bank
- Must be fully trained and able to use POS systems from inputting orders, issuing refunds, gift cards, running financial reports, inputting menu items
- Greet guests with a warm welcome and give fond farewell, always with a smile and proper eye contact
- Hold hourly staff to the same standards as you do for yourself and the company
- Be able to train staff in proper and safe cooking techniques required for the job
- Give daily or weekly updates with direct manager
- Follow proper rotation and storage of goods and maintain kitchen equipment
- Make sure food truck/ trailer is in proper running condition, clean, and in working order
- Be able and willing to cover all shifts for call outs and/or emergencies
- Lead by example
- Create a safe and comfortable work environment
- Communicate well with others
- Respect others opinions and input
- Work the line next to your staff, producing products according to recipes/directions
- Control labor costs
- Assist with new menu items
- Follow safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management
Skills
- At least 1 year of experience as a supervisor/kitchen manager
- At least 4 years of experience as a line cook
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Culinary school or related certificate (not required but is a plus)
- Serv-Safe certified
- Open availability
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
- Must be willing to work all line stations and/or register
- Must be US citizen or can legally work in the US
- Must have valid driver’s license
