Position Vacancy Announcement
The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualification applications for the Coordinator, Human Resources vacancy, specifically in the area of Payroll. This position reports directly to the Senior Associate Director, Human Resources for Time/Attendance and Payroll.
Responsibilities
Processes salary payments for dual/extra state compensation, retroactive pay, workers' compensation, and other related payments including supplemental salary payments.
Researches and routes all payroll documents such as direct deposits, W-4s and hiring documents in ImageNow.
Notifies Cash Management of advice and warrant cancellations and provide notice to payroll accounting for PeopleSoft cancellation to include Warrant Distribution of checks to pull for on and off-cycle payrolls.
Processes all requests for salary warrant cancellations resulting from salary over/under payments or warrants issued in error and compute salary over/under payments.
Processes criminal justice incentive, off-cycle payrolls, garnishment and child support request, and other salary related payments including but not limited to sick leave payments, beneficiary payments, awards, law enforcement allowances, lump sum payments and settlements payments.
Notifies employees of incorrect bank account information and make necessary changes.
Processes all direct deposit and W-4 requests from university employees.
Responsible for processing the off-cycle payroll up to and including the positive pay file and check print.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of experience in human resources; or master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
Recommended Competencies
Knowledge of applicable computer software and basic computer functions;
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain confidentiality;
Ability to compile printed materials and visual aids for training;
Ability to perform accurately in a detail oriented environment;
Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills;
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
Knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resource administration in assigned area;
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;
Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives;
Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related university policies, procedures, principles, and practices; and
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a human resources department within higher education;
Prior documented working experience in payroll;
Experience creating presentations to include presenting to various class sizes, both in person and on Zoom; and
Experience using Workday ERP system.
Anticipated Salary Range
Hiring salary is $50,000.00

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.
