Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator, Math Learning Center - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Coordination & Scheduling:
- Assist with oversight of scheduling, training, and certification processes for MLC staff.
- Assist with management of the daily operations of a high-energy, high-volume student center, ensuring smooth functionality and effective resource allocation.
- Regularly interact with faculty, staff, students, and administrators while managing multiple projects.
- Serve as a liaison between the MLC and various academic and administrative departments to support student success initiatives.
- Assist with managing a diverse team, including Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), Hired Tutors, and Front Desk personnel.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to student workers and tutors, ensuring a high standard of service and performance.
- Assist with planning and executing special events and programs, including those focused on student success, such as expos and recruitment events. Responsibilities include coordinating logistics, creating marketing materials, and overseeing day-of event operations.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop academic support services initiatives, particularly during peak periods. This includes supporting tutor recruitment, training, and scheduling.
- Ensure the MLC’s scheduling system (TracCloud) is functioning effectively and assist with managing data related to appointments, no-shows, and eTutoring usage.
- Assist with collection and analysis of data from various sources and use data to assess and enhance the impact of academic support services and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Assist with coordination of the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification process, including scheduling and assisting with facilitation of training sessions.
- Assist with development of training materials and maintain accurate certification records.
- Assist Associate Director in hiring and training of Distance Learning online embedded tutors.
- Assist Associate Director in collaborating with faculty teaching Distance Learning courses prior to the start of the semester to assign TAs based on course needs and enrollment.
- Assist in coordination, management, and implementation of embedded tutoring for Distance Learning courses through TracCloud.
- Assist Associate Director in compiling and reporting usage and outcomes to COCE.
- Perform routine observations and evaluations of online embedded tutors.
- Import embedded tutoring modules and information into Canvas for Distance Learning courses to contribute to ease of access of online support for students.
- Assist Associate Director in forming embedded tutoring schedules and communicating schedules with faculty and assigned TAs.
