Job Summary
The Operations Specialist responsibilities include risk management, enforcing policies and procedures, and compliance with Florida Atlantic and applicable national standards and best practices. Responsible for facility operation and implementation of safety procedures to ensure equipment operates within required risk management procedures for the Broward Fitness Center. Assists with hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising approximately 8 student staff employees. Ensures work orders and set-ups are in place for all events and programs. Is responsible for providing Customer Service to patrons, including retaining knowledge of all membership and program sales and facility access, ability to utilize critical thinking and decision-making skills, ability to direct patrons and clients to additional resources within the department and on campus, ability to maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times and in varying situations, responsible and accountable for maintaining highest-level time management skills as required by the position.

Requirements:
- Recreation, fitness or sports background administratively
- Computer Skills and knowledge of excel and Innosoft Fusion or equivalent software
- Strong organization and leadership skills
- Authorized to work in the United States
Job Description
Reports to the Associate Director of Facility Operations or other Campus Recreation professional staff
• Assists with facility and equipment preventative maintenance plan and minor repairs.
• Knowledgeable of building policies and procedures for all Campus Rec facilities
• Assist with managing membership operations including reconciliation process for credit/debit card sales, journal entries, payroll deduction, and installment billing process.
• Responsible for sale of lockers, and program registrations through Innosoft Fusion Software
• Assist with off-site trip programming (adventure or local trips).
• Assist with scheduling fitness programs and events on all 3 Broward campuses (Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Dania Beach).
• Articulate accurate information and answer questions to patron’s in-person, over phone, and by email.
• Responsible for knowledge of various departmental and FAU resources
• Other duties as assigned
Communication Skills: Articulate thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to persons inside and outside of the organization
- Marketing efforts on all 3 Broward campuses including social media (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
- Exemplify effective verbal and written communication through proper phone and email etiquette
- Greet Campus Recreation visitors and patrons
- Follow up messages and reporting
