Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Payroll Manager, Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of responsibilities include:
Responsible for the supervision and direction of the Payroll Office within the Controller's Office, Assist the Assistant Controller with all accounting functions related to this area, and assist the Assistant Controller and Controller with special projects and reports, as required.
Supervises payroll staff.
Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of staff.
Payroll records request from legal.
Manage year-end process to generate, reconcile, distribute, and transmit Forms W2 and W2C forms to customers and IRS.
Determines the payroll section's work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow.
Calculates overpayment of wages and manages the repayment process.
Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
Review, update and correct deferred pay as needed.
Provides training to new departmental payroll representatives as well as continued training to employees in new procedures required with an automated payroll system.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential to success in this position.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must also have excellent customer service, organizational and time management skills.
