Job Overview
The Quality Technician is responsible for the analysis, inspection, and measurement of the production process, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements. This role supports production line start-up, maintains documentation, and ensures the highest quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Verify the production itinerary and prepare documentation for your shift.
- Perform visual, dimensional, chemical, and physical inspection tests on finished goods as per the frequency set by the quality department.
- Immediately notify the Production Supervisor and Quality Manager of any defects or occurrences that could impact product quality or safety.
- Check calibrations and ensure proper labeling of laboratory equipment on a daily basis.
- Analyze the product on production lines and assist in determining the root cause of quality issues.
- Manage product segregation in “hold” for items that don’t meet specifications; document and conduct compliance tests for final “release” or “discard”.
- Produce process production labels using accounting systems and report daily production per pallet.
- Stay eager to learn and take on new functions, including supporting areas outside of your daily process.
- Ensure the work area is organized and clean at the end of every shift.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the current Food Safety System.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Comply with the policies, procedures, and processes established by Florida Can Manufacturing LLC.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in science preferred.
- At least one to two years of related experience required.
- Analysis and self-learning capacity.
- Attention to details.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
