Job Description Summary
The Senior Azure Cloud Architect will be accountable to manage the people, processes, and technologies used to provide enterprise cloud infrastructure to all staff at Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure roadmap aligned with business goals and objectives, including the management of data center facilities.
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers and data center technicians, providing guidance on architecture design, best practices, and technical direction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency of our cloud environments and data center operations.
- Establish and enforce security policies and compliance standards to protect sensitive data and mitigate risks in both cloud-based and physical environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the development, deployment, and operation of cloud-based applications and services, as well as the maintenance of on-premises infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage in cloud infrastructure and data center management.
- Designing and documenting detailed Azure architectures utilizing services like compute, storage, networking, databases, and application services.
- Leading the implementation of Azure solutions according to the designed architecture
- Configuring and managing Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and network components
- Automating deployments using Azure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices
- Assisting in the migration of on-premises applications to Azure, including assessment, planning, and execution
