What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Hygiene Technician position at FLORIDA CANYON MINING INC?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Industrial Hygienist, the Industrial Hygiene Technician is responsible for performing industrial hygiene activities including inspections, sampling, record maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain IH standards, policies, and programs.
- Perform sampling for respirable crystalline silica and dust exposure in accordance with acceptable IH best practices.
- Conduct respirator fit tests.
- Maintain data and records for all matters related to IH sampling.
- Organize, track, and properly calibrate industrial hygiene equipment.
- Complete chain of custody forms and submit samples for analysis.
- Conduct training on IH related topics.
- Any other job duties that may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Safety or Industrial Hygiene experience, preferred
- Self-confidence, motivation, and strong leadership and organizational skills, required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred
- Strong analytical ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required
- Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions and travel uneven terrain, required
- Must be able to traverse stairs regularly, required
- Must be able to wear a respirator for periods of time up to an entire shift, required
