Job Description - Service Technician

Responsibilities:

• Perform and/or assist in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Repair all equipment components and systems assigned to them with minimal assistance.
• Work on engine overhaul, fuel systems electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Use hand and mechanical tools and equipment to perform work
• Work on major components with close supervision.
• Perform trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Uses manufactures technical troubleshooting resources (Tech lines) independently along with diagnostic tools (laptop, meters, pressure gauges).
• Attend training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of hands-on diesel experience or graduate of vocational diesel courses.
• Necessary tools to perform the position.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Computer experience.
• CDL preferred, especially if position involves mobile technician duties

Working Conditions:

Working conditions include but are not limited to working around moving objects or vehicles, fumes, solvents, grease, and oil. May work under conditions of inclement weather.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate, talk and hear, and use equipment to effectively perform the functions of the job. Manual dexterity is required. The wearing and use of company specified PPE is required as well as complying with all safety requirements.

Physical ability to lift 15-75 lbs.
