POSITION SUMMARY
The Perioperative Acute Care Assistant Nurse Manager is a registered nurse who, using critical thinking skills, coordinates the clinical activities within a specific unit and collaborates with other members of the health care team. Facilitates leadership on off-shifts and directs flow of cases, and care within all of surgical services. (OR, PACU, SPD). Collaborates with house supervisor. She/he directly and indirectly supervises the care rendered by ancillary staff. Focus on unit-based performance improvement and is a resource instructor for competency assessment specific to units. Facilitate patient safety goals, implement, collect and measure PI performance and all nursing documentation review for accuracy. Dept. specific guidelines review and assists with implementing educational in-services to all surgical services areas. Assists with staff scheduling and filling in during the absence of the managers or on the clinical unit where needed to support staff. Acts as a role model to enhance clinical practice excellence and support evidence-based programs.

Education: Assoicate Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience: 2 years experience as RN, preferably in OR/PACU/outpatient or ambulatory setting. Leadership experience preferred.
License: Registered Nurse
Certification: BLS/CPR at hire (AMERICAN HEART ASSN) ACLS/PALS certifications within 90 days
