Civil Rights Compliance Analyst

What you will do:
As a Civil Rights Compliance Officer, you will apply Civil Rights laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines accordingly to support the administration and operation of programs, benefits, and services administered by the Department of Children and Families and its network of providers and community stakeholders.
How you will make an impact:
- Investigate complaints of discrimination asserting violation(s) of applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitoring of service delivery components by Agency program offices and contract service providers that receive federal financial assistance.
- Investigate allegations and complaints of non-compliance with, or violations of, Agency, Federal, or State Non-Discrimination laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and provide technical assistance to program offices and contract service providers.
- Interpret laws, court orders and governmental regulations, or policies related to the requirements of applicable Civil Rights, HIPAA, and ADA laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participate in dispute resolution proceedings conducted by 3rd-party government agencies involved in the administration and enforcement of Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its implementing regulations, and other Civil Rights laws and regulations.
- Working with department attorneys in the handling of cases involving Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its implementing regulations, and other Civil Rights, HIPAA and ADA laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Two years of demonstrated experience Interviewing witnesses, investigating complaints, or gathering factual information.
- Knowledgeable of State and Federal Civil Rights laws, including the ADA, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and HIPAA, as amended.
- Experience preparing well-written and supported professional work products.
- Two years of experience working with office productivity software (Word, Excel, Adobe, Power Point)
- Statewide travel.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
