What you will do:
In this important Human Resources role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the hiring of the critical class positions, which protect the vulnerable, promote strong and economically self-sufficient families, and advance personal and family recovery and resiliency. This position requires you to work on-site.
How you will make an impact:
- Responsible for monitoring vacancies and managing internal movement process. Position is responsible for assisting with formulating plans to fill vacancies to Recruitment Supervisor as it relates to internal movement of employees, the use of viable candidate pools and recruiting/attracting new talent. Participate in implementing plans to include attending job fairs/hiring events and building relationships with internal/external organizations to develop/enhance talent pipeline.
- Collaborate with program hiring managers to ensure a fair and consistent interview process. Coordinate with program to establish interview schedules and use of approved selection process tools. Schedule candidates for interview and send invites along with applicable interview information to interview panelists. May participate on the interview team to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria as needed.
- Responsible for determining eligibility of candidates to ensure they meet the minimum requirements of the position and any applicable cutoff scores established by the programs for advancement to the next step in the selection process.
- Send automated pre-screening tests and willingness questionnaires to eligible candidates. Collaborate with program hiring managers to ensure a fair and consistent interview process. Coordinate with program to establish interview schedules and use of approved selection process tools.
- Schedule candidates for interview and send invites along with applicable interview information to interview panelists. May participate on the interview team to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria as needed. Collect interview/work scenario results/scoring from Program and move selected candidates to the hiring process stage.
- Responsible for sending job postings to Statewide Advertising Team. Apply veterans preference appropriately and ensures applicable scoring is awarded at each stage of the hiring process. Ensure requisitions are maintained and coordinates closure of requisitions with Statewide Advertising Team.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience in recruitment and selection activities.
- Experience determining candidate eligibility using an applicant tracking system.
- Valid Driver’s License (Travel is required to attend off-site job fairs, interviews and meetings as needed).
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Preferences:
- Experience, education or training in hiring, employee recruitment and selection activities.
- Experience with DCF HR systems, People First Talent Management System, and MS Office Excel and Word.
- Knowledge of Department of Children amp; Families’ services related to child welfare, adult protection, economic self-sufficiency, or mental health treatment facilities direct care.
