Job Description
No Experience Required, Paid Training,
Jackson Correctional Institution in Malone, FL is looking for individuals with a solid work ethic and strong integrity to join its ranks as a Correctional Officer. All cadets will attend a 12-week academy paid by the department where they will participate in Firearms Training, Defensive Tactics, First Aid/CPR, and other classroom subjects all while receiving a full-time salary. Once complete the cadet must pass the certification exam
The Florida Department of Corrections(FDC) is Florida's largest state agency and is the third largest correctional agency in the United States With over 50 major facilities across the state of Florida the FDC employs over 22,000 staff. The FDC oversees supervising over 200,000 inmates and offenders in Florida. Currently the FDC is looking for highly motivated individuals to fill the ranks. With no experience, necessary the FDC will pay for the training required by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) You will be overseeing and monitoring the activities of the inmates in living areas, recreation activities areas, dining areas and visitation areas. You will be coordinating and monitoring inmate movements, conducting counts and providing emergency response as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
-18 years’ old
-High School Graduate or equivalent
-Valid Driver’s License
-No Felony Convictions
Documentation Requested:
-Birth Certificate or passport
-High school diploma, transcripts or equivalent non-certified copies are acceptable (some college transcripts are acceptable)
-Driver’s License
-Social Security Card
- Selective Service Registration or DD214 if applicable
-Name Change Documents: If your name has every changed for the following reasons documentation is required ie: adoption, marriage, divorce
-Past employment information for the past 3 years to include: place of employment, supervisor, contact information.
PAY
- ($22.00/hourly)
- Criminal Justice Pay maximum - $130 month
- Uniform/Shoe Allowance - $325 Annually
BENEFITS
- Leave: Annual Leave - 104 hours a year (accrued @ 4 hours biweekly)
- Sick Leave - 104 hours a year (accrued @ 4 hours biweekly)
