What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Intern position at Florida Detroit Diesel Allison?
The Accounting Intern will assist and support the accounting functions for a large multi segment transportation, distribution, and services company. The Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to practice their accounting skills and gain additional knowledge and insight to the field of accounting, while gaining experience in one or more of the following areas of accounting, tax, audit, financial analysis, credit & collection, AP & AR and general accounting.
High school diploma or GED supplemented by secretarial and computer courses. Some college preferred.
Administrative Experience Is Preferred.

Office hours are 800am to 500pm Monday through Friday (somewhat flexible). Overtime as needed.
- Perform a wide variety of technical, paraprofessional, and/or professional duties based on department assignment.
- Maintain knowledge and ensure the protection of policies, practices, and requirements.
- Assist in preparing project reports, progress summaries, spreadsheets, general letters, and other written material.
- Maintain high degree of quality control and validation of the completed work.
- Participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.
- Participate in various phases of a planned training.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings/workshops which provide for an increasing awareness of general knowledge of programs and current practices.
- Uses acquired knowledge and skills to carry out and complete project activities.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on project teams as required.
- Coordinate all paperwork according to procedures.
- Answer and route telephone calls, take messages, and arrange travel for manager or appropriate personnel.
- May manage the assigned manger’s schedule keep calendar current and accurate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
