Kirby Corporation is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis/Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team in Houston, TX.
- Integrate financial and operational data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP systems, operational databases) into a centralized platform for holistic analysis.
- Gathering and validating data from different sources, cleaning, transforming, and preparing it for analysis within Power BI.
- Checking data accuracy and identifying inconsistencies to maintain data integrity.
- Maintaining clear documentation of data sources, calculations, and report design decisions.
- Create and maintain financial models to analyze trends, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
- Working closely with business users to understand their reporting needs, gather requirements, and ensure the developed reports align with their objectives.
- Prepare and present internal financial reports to various stakeholders.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling to inform strategic initiatives and business decisions.
- Provide support in the development and update of the annual financial budget
- Drive efficiency in FP&A processes by identifying process improvements, incorporating new technologies, automation, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or Economics or related field, required
- 0-2 years experience in related field
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data
- Excellent data visualization skills
- Attention to detail and data quality
- Understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial statements, required
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
- Eagerness to learn and develop Power BI skills
- Experience with financial systems preferred but not required
- Experience Microsoft Power tools (Power Query, Pivot, Power BI tools), preferred
- Experience in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis, preferred
- Experience with Oracle’s Hyperion Planning, preferred
