Stewart & Stevenson is Now Hiring a Regional Manager at 8200 East Freeway Houston, TX 77029. Responsible for overall and daily management of the Regional Operation, including assigned area operations and staff.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and seven years related experience Associates’ or Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) strongly preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Other Requirements
Prior experience in managing a P&L based service operation focused on heavy, industrial, and or power-driven equipment in a facilitative Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partnering arrangement strongly preferred. Prior experience in developing and managing budgets also strongly preferred. Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities under limited supervision required.
Physical Activities & Requirements
Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the position, location, and/or customer.
Working Conditions
Office environment with some shop environment exposure. Shop environment may not have air conditioning.

- Oversee the daily operations of the regional area, including both shop and field services.
- Travel to customer sites to engage with clients as appropriate.
- Travel to area branches to assess branch performance regarding quality of work, customer satisfaction, and employee morale.
- Oversee the operation of the area branches in accordance with company and budget goals.
- Ensure that all operations comply with company policies and standards.
- Provide oversight to area’s budgeted financial objectives.
- Ensure adequate manpower and supplies are available to complete work assignments.
- Develop or oversee staffing plans to ensure they are consistent and adequate for attaining Division objectives.
- Support staff in resolving issues regarding supplies, equipment, or manpower shortages.
- Monitor progress towards budgeted goals and implement cost controls or reductions as necessary.
- Monitor gross profit levels and other financial metrics established by the Company.
- Follow up on escalated customer service concerns or complaints and ensure satisfactory resolution.
- Ensure all departments maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure proper safety training and standards are in place, and that safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Develop marketing plans with sales and marketing departments to develop and increase branch business.
- Establish work standards, set expectations, and evaluate branch staff's performance against expectations.
- Identify, address, and implement timely employee development and training opportunities, including succession planning.
- Hire, counsel, and discharge branch staff as necessary, or approve actions as necessary for area branches.
- Oversee rollout of company initiatives at area branches, ensuring successful implementation.
