Job Summary: The Laboratory Coordinator is responsible for processing and shipping all specimens received in the lab. Day-to-day operations will include phlebotomy, blood & urine processing, organizing requisitions and packing and shipping of completed specimens according to study lab manual. Required training includes IATA and GCP. Responsible for organizing study kits and supplies. Ability to communicate effectively with the team.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to join our Florida Research Institute (FRI) team and support our mission.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Setup, operate and maintain lab equipment
- Daily inspections and record keeping of eye wash stations
- Shipping and processing specimens per study specific lab manual
- Specimen/sample collection
- Ordering dry ice
- Responsible for communicating with CRC’s on lab supply needs
- Responsible for manual temperature logs
- Responsible for reporting any temperature deviations to regulatory and supervisor
- Review and maintain all study manuals for instruction and study readiness
- Responsible for start-up supplies and continued inventory for all trials
- Review lab supplies / kits for expiration dates and discard as stated in protocol
- Bio-hazard waste to include vendor communications / red bag and box maintenance
- Must have knowledge of and adhere to the approved FRI SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Trouble shooting and resolving potential problems
- Assists with training of new employee’s additional duties/responsibilities may be assigned as needed
- Maintain access to study lab portals

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Laboratory experience (2 years preferred)
- Experience in phlebotomy
