Description : We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our gastroenterology practice. The LPN will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care, assist with procedures, and support clinical operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties :
- Accompany patients to the exam room; collect patient history and provide physical assessments as delegated by the physicians.
- Schedule and obtain results for lab or radiology procedures; interpret and accurately communicate results to physicians and patients as necessary.
- Perform or assist physician with in-office procedures and specialty patients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR).
- Educate patients and families about prescribed treatments, dietary restrictions, and post-procedure care.
- Possess knowledge of drug uses and dosage requirements; ensure sample medications are up to date.
- Call in prescription refills to pharmacies as needed.
- Perform upkeep for exam and specialty procedure room with regards to sterilization and infection control, supplies, and equipment
- Perform emergency life-saving procedures if necessary.
- Answers email and voicemail and return patient calls in a timely and efficient manner.
- Complete request for information from other FDHS staff and ensure that they are handled promptly and effectively to guarantee payment on patient accounts.
- Abide by and promote HIPAA compliance; maintain strict confidentiality with regards to patient information.
- Participate in staff meetings as directed by the Office Administrator.
- Cross trains and performs other office functions including phone triage, check-in / check-out, scheduling, pre-certification, or medical records as directed by the Office Administrator.

Qualifications :
Previous experience in gastroenterology, internal medicine, or a related specialty preferred.
Strong clinical skills, including medication administration and patient assessment.

The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee should be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office noise levels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to sounds such as ringing phones, office equipment, and conversations among colleagues.
