Mechanical Supervisor

Overview

Crane or Lift Equipment Mechanics repair and maintain overhead cranes, side loaders and chassis stackers by performing preventative and emergency maintenance.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Mechanics inspect equipment for damage or failures.
• Perform diagnostics and repair service for equipment component failures.
• Remove and replace damaged or defective components, and operate support equipment including forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks.
• Leadership and the ability to motivate employees. Ability to prioritize multiple, and often, competing obligations
• Provide in-house training on Maintenance of Equipment software programs.
• All work performed must be done in a safe and efficient manner.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS / EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A valid Driver’s License

• Mechanical experience working with cranes or lift equipment
• Must comply with established safety rules, policies and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment

• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. . 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

            Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively be­fore groups of customers or employees of organization.

REASONING ABILITY

            Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

            The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

            Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must have Florida driver's license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather condition and is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
