## Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. This role requires a blend of technical skills and compassionate patient care.
## Duties
- Conduct preliminary patient screenings, including chief complaints and medical history documentation
- Perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and refraction
- Assist with minor surgical procedures under the supervision of an ophthalmologist
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health record systems like EyeMd
- Utilize anatomy knowledge to explain procedures and educate patients on eye health
## Skills
- Proficient in patient care with a focus on compassion and empathy
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy related to the eye
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and protocols
- Experience with electronic health records systems like EyeMd is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, colleagues, and vendors
