What are the responsibilities and job description for the APRN/ PA Float position at Florida Health Care Plans, Inc.?
Summary
Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO, is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to float between our 6 Extended Hour Care Center locations in Volusia County. This position is three 12-hour shifts / 36 hours weekly, with a rotating Saturday.
Qualifications
• Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure
• Minimum 3 years’ post licensing experience, working independently, in family medicine, urgent care clinics or a combination
• Graduate of an accredited program, APRN, NP, or PA program
• Ability to treat Urgent Care presentations: (Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.)
• Foreign body removal
• Laceration repair, Suturing skills
• Abscess I & D
• Diagnose, treat, & splint fractures
• DOT Certification required within 30 days
• Professional examination experience (i.e. Firefighter’s physicals, etc.) preferred
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience (good typing & computer skills)
• Worker’s Comp experience preferred
• Great Customer Service and Communication skills with patients and their primary care physicians
