Summary
Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO, is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to float between our Volusia County facilities.
This position is 40 hours weekly, with flexible scheduling based on need. Either 5 8-hour days or 4 10-hour days, or 3 12-hour days and 1 4-hour day.
There will be a mix of primary care and urgent care.
Qualifications
- Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure
- Minimum 3 years’ post licensing experience, working independently, in family medicine, urgent care clinics or a combination.
- Graduate of an accredited program, APRN, NP, or PA program
- Ability to treat Urgent Care presentations : (Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.)
- Foreign body removal
- Laceration repair, Suturing skills
- Abscess I & D
- Diagnose, treat, & splint fractures
- DOT Certification required within 30 days
- Professional examination experience (i.e. Firefighter’s physicals, etc.) preferred
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience (good typing & computer skills)
- Worker’s Comp experience preferred
- Great Customer Service and Communication skills with patients and their primary care physicians
